The feeling I was shooting for on this one was that of hanging and wondering. I heard tension in this vocal, where lots of others heard tenderness. The production on the vocals also sent me in an electronic direction. My instrumental toolkit is strongest in the electronic department, so that made things easier as well.

For what it’s worth, I’m pretty proud of this one because it represents a real leap forward for me. It is the first remix I did working off a vocal from the ground up. I figured out the key and asked my kids piano teacher for a little help getting a collection of chords that might work with it. I didn’t really use the chord list much but it gave me something to refer to.

I am sure there is more I could do here but I am ready to move on. Thanks everybody for all your support thus far and especially my vocalist for giving me something I could listen to over and over again and never get tired of.
