Many years ago when I could still wear short trousers without people laughing at my legs a Fair would come to the town where I lived just before Xmas. It would be the start of a magical time when we children would escape into a wonderful world of mysterious events and happiness. Amongst the noise of the Fair a Salvation Army band would work its way through all the well known carols and sometimes a Mr Roberts would join them and sing out in his beautiful baritone.

So let me take you back to earlier times with the help of Admiral Bob who will be my substitute for Mr Roberts.

There are suitable spaces in the middle and at the end to let your mind drift off to those days of childhood.

I have changed the melody line to fit something I composed last year.
